June has flown right on by and I’ve barely had time to tend to our garden, let alone share any updates on its progress! I got a pretty late start on getting things in the ground this year, compared to the past couple of years, and was so worried that we’d have little-to-no starts to choose from and that what we did plant wouldn’t be able to catch up and be ready to harvest before the first frosts of fall.
Those who know me, know that my love of donuts runs deep. They’re my favorite sweet treat. I can’t visit a new city or bakery without hunting down their donut options, and rarely ever do I sink my teeth into one I don’t love.
A week ago today, I was sat upon a step stool in the flickering fluorescent light of our recently torn-apart-for-renovations kitchen, while a storm raged outside. Water was leaking in from all sides of our basement foundation, and there was a small but steady stream dripping into our bedroom from a caved in portion of the roof in our attic, which I’d discovered only moments before.
There’s nothing quite like that feeling of quenching super dry lips, am I right? Especially that moment when, after they’ve been bothering you for hours and you were without lip balm on hand to soothe them, you finally get to swipe on the relief! Ahhh.
