Snapshots + An Autumn Playlist

September 23, 2016

I can't describe how good it feels to be home and know that we'll continue to be home regularly for quite some time. While autumn is always the busiest season in our lives, most of what keeps us on the move happens in town, and we can crash in our own bed at night, whereas the summer always has us ...

Five on Friday: September 16, 2016

September 16, 2016

Wow, this week flew by! Jeremy and I spent it in Seattle (I was attending a work conference) and while I love, love, love travel, it always feels SO good to be home and get back into a routine. ...

Monday Muse: Florence Welch

September 12, 2016

There are a lot of women I have a lot of respect for in this world – from family and friends to famous authors, musicians, activists, fashion icons, and so on. At the very top of that list, for several years now, though, has been the immensely talented, gorgeous, eccentric, and ...

Five on Friday: September 9, 2016

September 9, 2016

The news sure does have a way of getting us down, doesn’t it? So often, it’s filled with stories that revolve around death and destruction, changes or decisions – or lack thereof - that have people up in arms, political slandering, the same old celebrity gossip… ...

A Night at the Museum: Fort Wayne Ballet’s Beer & BarreBQ

May 9, 2016

Before moving to Fort Wayne, I was totally unaware of just how much the city had going on in the realm of fine arts. And in the years since then, our arts community has only continued to grow - in not only the number of artists, exhibits, events, productions, festivals, and more, but also in the ...

Can’t Stop Listening: “Cleopatra” by The Lumineers

April 15, 2016

I’ve been so caught up in Podcast Land lately that I haven’t really obsessively listened to any new music in months. All of that changed this week, though, when I decided to give Cleopatra, the new album from The Lumineers, a go. I can’t get it out of my head, y’all! It’s so addicting. ...

Almost every nook and cranny of our home is filled Almost every nook and cranny of our home is filled with sentimental pieces. I’m the daughter, granddaughter, and niece that will gladly take items the family may otherwise get rid of or have tucked away in closets for decades, untouched. The kind of traveler that looks for leaves and shells and rocks to keep in my pockets and carry with me, so I can always hold a piece of where I’ve been. Usually, I have no idea where these things may come to live in my own home, but they always manage to find their perfect places in time.

These shelves alone hold a basket full of stones and shells from around the world, framed high school love letters my grandpa wrote to my grandma in the 1940s, an assortment of found and inherited books, some well more than a century old, and sweet portraits of my great grandparents.

While I strive to avoid clutter, I do love filling every room with as many meaningful pieces as I can. Because while many things are just things, some are so much more. 🤍
